Pregnancy Over 40 - Is It Okay?I am sure you have heard a plenty of warnings and suspicion concerning women who are over 40 years old and still want to get pregnant and have a baby. The tales are endless.
Some information states that she may get pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, or have a c-section, to name just a few. If you are successful at getting pregnant, they torture you with other stories of birth defects, chromosomal abnormalities, everything but alien mutation.
Also, when you do get pregnant at an advanced age you are treated like a lab rat with all kind of experiments, such as sonograms and amniocentesis test. Amniocentesis test is meant to verify that your baby is health. However, there are always some risks involved when making these tests, and they can make mistakes as well.

A woman over 40 is not much different from any other woman who gets pregnant, except that she is over 40. The threat of women of this age are more at risk of gaining more weight seems to be filled with half-truths. Today it is quite common that women under thirty are substantially overweight. They may be younger, but wiser? Lifestyle factor is even more important than age.
There are several motives why many women want to wait before starting to have children. These reasons could be, for example, career oriented lifestyle, meeting that “Mr Right” rather late, or some just get the “baby syndrome” at a later stage in their life. Whatever the reason is, it is not uncommon today to get pregnant and have a baby over forty. Because of advanced medicine and better health care the risks of complications have dramatically decreased, and getting pregnant over 40 has become almost a routine.
Tips on Getting Pregnant Are Just About the Same for Women of All Ages:
• Exercise and be in good physical condition not only before pregnancy, but also during and after pregnancy.
• Eat healthy.
• Be sure you are receiving good prenatal care.
Fertility treatments such as IVF are quite popular. The twist to this is that studies show many women manage to get pregnant in between treatments naturally, as long as their partner has no sperm count irregularities.
One of the principal set-backs for women over 40 is stress. Stress does effect the body. Trying to conceive while being worried, afraid and anxious will result in less chances of success. So, if you have some concerns, you should talk about them with someone close to you, such as your husband or your best friend. This will not only help you to feel better, but also getting pregnant faster.
In summary, live healthy and don’t stress too much. Getting pregnant over 40 can be a rewarding experience. Eat well and healthy, watch your weight, drink enough water, and remember to rest. And do not let the pregnancy stories scare you.
