Overcrowding could mean misplaced gems or lost jewellery if a small piece falls unnoticed from the case. You could even inadvertently bend a fragile piece or chip a delicate stone.

its shine with a fine steel wool (as used on wood between varnish coatings) to provide with an antique look. However, if you dull it too much, you can polish it back to its shine with a soft cleaning cloth or baking soda. Do be mindful that steel wool can cause mild abrasive marks on your sterling silver, thus causing the matte look. Thus, use this method ONLY on spots that you would like to have a matte finish at.
