Australian Fashion Week

Although Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney is best known for setting swimwear trends, several designers this season showcased intimate apparel or inspirational looks. A staple at Fashion Week, luxe lingerie label Ms. Couture explored the idea of modest femininity with a sweet palette of pastels and retro silhouettes fashioned out of body-baring fabrics and details.

Other designers (from left to right) Blessed Are the Meek, Flannel, Shakuhachi, and Kate Sylvester set a solid example for the Contemporary market on how to integrate innerwear  into the outer layer. Floaty chemises, basic bralettes, leather hotpants and kimono robes were counterbalanced with strongly tailored pieces and demure duds that, overall, exuded an effortless edginess that has come to characterize Australian fashion.
